Laugh at Yourself - Take Loretta's Humor Quotient Test
Read the statements below and circle the number that best applies to you. If you circle a 7, you’re agreeing wholeheartedly that the statement is very characteristic of you (in other words, you’re saying, “I’m perfect and couldn’t improve!”). If you circle a 1, the statement is very uncharacteristic of you (“Not me! I may need a ‘humor transplant.’”). A 4 is when you’re truly in the middle of the road, and the rest of the numbers are lesser degrees of a 1 and 7. Be honest—no one’s watching!

If your score was from 100 to 112, you’re either lying or can’t add; a score between 90 and 99 indicates that you’re a “humor pro”; 70–90 means minor adjustments may be in order for you; and 45–70 suggests that a major adjustment is needed. If you didn’t laugh or smile at my scoring method, give yourself a zero.
It’s very important to make sure that your sense of humor isn’t vanishing. One of the signs of recovery from clinical depression is the ability to see a bit of mirth from within. I suggest that you do a periodic humor check. It’s not always easy to recognize it in yourself, so allow friends to give you an overview of your behavior.
Are you feeling too serious or down in the dumps? Why not give your sense of humor a kick start. Getting help early on will offset what could become a serious condition. I’ve suffered from anxiety and depression, and I recommend avoiding it at all costs. Find a way to start laughing so you can start to rehabilitate yourself.
